The City of New Orleans

I always loved this song. Doesn't it just make you want to call up Amtrak and book a train ride?

P.S. After watching this, I spent the day priming and repainting Kelly's Pepto Bismol pink bathroom. (It's now a nice olive green shade.) I hummed this song to myself the whole time!

Where do you find this stuff? Couldn't they find a train called City of New Orleans instead of Illinois Central? And did you notice all those ditches and vallums?!

I think Illinois Central is the name of the railroad company but City of New Orleans is the name of the route...just like Amtrak's Silver Bullet (or whatever it is).

I, too, love this song. It's got such a melancholoy feel to it.

Olive green is so much nicer than Peptol Bismal pink.

It does, doesn't it? I hadn't thought of it that way, but you're right. I've also been humming "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" and Patsy Cline's "Sweet Dreams" to myself. Wonder what all the melancholy is about? I think I'm still missing my Kelly.
