Kathie's been getting more interested in the whole blogging thing, so I suggested to her that she submit our site for consideration to a blogroll out there. The San Diego Union-Tribune's blogroll didn't look nearly as fun as ours over here, but I sent her that link anyway. Last night, she sent me the following message.
"I think your friend John sunk our San Diego blogroll boat. This is the response I got today:
Thanks for the suggestion -- nice blog, but too much use of the F-word -- we try to avoid linking to sites that can't pass as "family-friendly."

I could completely understand if the cursing had been for the sake of cursing. However, I think John told a great story in a very definite voice. I was immediately able to see "him" as a vivid, real person reliving some very intense memories.
When I do the round up for Lowcountry Blogs I do link to posts with profanity, just not to posts with cussing for the sake of cussing.
For what it's worth, I thought the post was powerful.
Your adjectives, Heather - vivid, real, intense, powerful - all describe John to a T. I'll have to write more about him in another post some time.
